Contained here are records, historical documents, and photographs produced by residents and community organizations linked to the town of Lake Cowichan. This includes, but is not limited to, the Kaatza Historical Society, the Lakeside Players, the town’s Canadian Scandinavian Club, and several fonds donated by prominent members of the community. The collection also contains a large repository of photographs accrued by the Kaatza Historical Society, some of which date back to the 1910s.

The Kaatza Archives have begun uploading sample photographs to our website. Click the following link to take a look: https://kaatzamuseum.pastperfectonline.com/Photo

We also have an extensive map collection of the Cowichan Lake area, from townsite maps to logging camps and beyond. Given the collection is in progress, please e-mail the archives at kaatzaarchives@shaw.ca to inquire on what maps you are looking for and we will see if there is anything in the collection.
